About

My first mindfulness retreat was eight years ago. There, for the first time, I began to realise that there was a way to become more present and let go a little of the constant mind-chatter in my brain - that was a huge relief!
Since then, I have explored different pathways to stillness. I have deepened the yoga practice that I've had for fifteen years, and I started daily Mindfulness practice three years ago. These practices are strengthened by regular retreats and through studying meditation.
In my working life, I teach 11-18 year-olds in a local comprehensive school. From starting off ten years ago with occasional 'stillings', relaxation and meditations, I am now accredited to teach the Mindfulness in Schools 8-week programme which is called the ".b" course.
I have taught the ".b" course to over two hundred students since 2011 and this year am delivering it to all of our Year 9 students (13/14 year olds) as part of their Personal, Social and Health Education classes.
This work with groups is complimented by carrying out 1-2-1 sessions in Mindfulness with teenagers outside of school hours.
I am currently finishing my third year of a MSc in Mindfulness-Based Approaches at Bangor University's Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice.
