8-week Mindfulness Based-Stress Reduction Course, March-April 2014

* Over eight weekly sessions, we will develop skills and
practices to enhance awareness of the body and breath, feelings and experiences, in order to bring mindfulness to our daily lives.
This helps to reduce stress and tension as we come to relax more into the present, and listen to our own experience more.
* Sessions are every Monday night from Monday 3rd March until Monday 21st April, 7-9 p.m.
* Course costs include: an Orientation session (Sunday 2nd March, 4.30-6 p.m.), an all-day of practice (Sunday 13th April), and workbooks and CDs for home practice.
* Evening sessions will be held at Selwyn Hall, Valens Terrace, Box, Corsham, Wiltshire, SN13 8NT.
* Cost: £135 / £100 concessions (low-waged)

Additional Information
Before the course starts...
There will be a 20-30 minute initial phone conversation. This will be for you to find out more about
what's involved in committing to the course, and whether this is the right time in your life to undertake it. This will also be a chance to ask any questions you may have about the eight weeks.
The Orientation session on the afternoon of Sunday 2nd March is to introduce the group (maximum 12 people) to each other, as well as explore the guidelines for the course.
During the course...
There will be home practice recommended for six out of seven days, for each of the eight weeks.
Recorded guidance for each week's practice will be given to you through CDs and will last from 30-40 minutes. Some weeks there are also other short exercises which will take up to 5 minutes each day.
This might seem like a lot of time to find each day yet as with any kind of training, the more we practise and
train in Mindfulness, the more benefit it brings.
There will be further telephone support outside sessions during the course, should you need it. This phone
support is for difficulties with Mindfulness you'd like to discuss, however, there won't be much opportunity to directly discuss any personal situation here or in the group setting. Mindfulness courses are not the same as therapy courses; if you'd like help with a particular issue it may be best to bring this to a trained therapist or friend/family member.
There will be an all-day of practice, between sessions 6 and 7, for everyone on the course on Sunday 13th
April from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
